Double Cross, Time After Time, 2003

Double Cross - Time After TimeThis album proved to be a bit of a strange animal. Crafted in typical British melodic rock traditions, I feel the band have some things going for them, but also some against.

Yes the music is melodic and carries the trademarks we have come to expect. Catchy choruses, songs filled with melody, harmony vocals and lots of keyboards and guitar. So far nothing to worry about.

But listening to this it seems the band can´t really make up their mind. Guitars are playing a lot, and often a bit too many notes if you ask me. Same with the vocals and backings, a little too much cherry in the cake? Also I can´t help thinking not everything is totally in tune vocal and guitar wise.

So one for completists. Nice but not essential
