Today more and more artists seem to prefer releasing single songs or an EP instead of a full album. In case of Idlewar it is a debut, which makes it quite understandable. Nothing wrong with testing the water! The band operate as a classic hard rock power trio and are pretty self supporting, with writing, performing and producing this.
The EP contains 5 songs and could be described as a bit of old and a bit of new. Massive grooves and riffs (just check that bass sound) but also straight forward with little to no over dubbing. What you see is what you get. And sounding somewhere between Foo Fighters, Soundgarden, Clutch and Queens Of The Stone Age. Song Eleventeen is a great way to get people to love this but all ooze an energy that is hard to resist. And I do love a band that still wants to carry the flag of hard rock!
Simply tastes of more, go check them out online or at their website and help make that happen.
